Grilled Cheese What the F__k Ever Sandwiches
Sorry for the mess on the stove but I had the munchies and had made a few before I remembered to take a picture.
I bought this skillet on a whim one day at the grocery store not
knowing how it was about to change my life and bring my childhood
favorite sandwich back in a big way.
I got bored with the standard american cheese slice and butter grilled
cheese. When stoned I like to do childish things and venture out. So a
quick Google search let
me know that as an adult these days I can put ANYTHING that I would
normally make with cheese on a grilled cheese sandwich! The doors where
open!
Cheeses with an acidity in the range of pH 5.3 to 5.5 — such as gouda, gruyére or manchego make the best liquidy cheese. So I picked up some gouda, gruyere,
thick american slices, real bacon bits so I didn't have
to cook bacon and various sliced meats. At home I always have varoius
blocks of different cheeses, sour cream,
lettuce, tomatoes etc...A cooking friend suggested that use mayo
instead of butter. I eat butter on top of butter on anything but I
tried the mayo anyway and it is a game changer.
Now I only use mayo unless I'm making the Classic grilled cheese.
Here of some of my favorites. You really don't need a breakdown of individual ingredients:
What ever cheese and what ever sliced meat with pickles on top.
Taco/burrito grilled cheese. Don't forget the
Dorritos grinder. It is sitting on the counter beside the salt and
pepper.
Baked potato grilled cheese.
Bacon egg and cheese.
Cheese burger/Bacon cheese burger
Hotdog sliced long ways with chilli and cheese
What ever I can find in the cupboard grilled cheese
If you going to make ANY sandwich or biscuit then why not make it a grilled cheese sandwich.
Also anytime I make something with cheese and have left overs. Put some
on a grilled cheese to carry to work the next day just to change it up.
Here are pix of what I remembered to take a pic of :
Above is with mayo on the bread instead of butter.
and this is after toasting. I expected it to burn before the cheese was melted compared to butter.
Above is gouda cheese gushing out the side. It is very
liquidy and you have to hold the sandwich together because the top
sides all over the place. Not very strong
flavored so I other stuff for flavor like pickles and strong meats like bacon, sausage and salami.
Above it White american with bacon bits and smoked sausage. Cooking
regular bacon its better but when Stoned the bits are a cinch.
